World’s Most Popular Remote Access Service Adds Advanced Pocket PC Functionality, Announces Pocket PC Advisory Board

Woburn, MA (PRWEB) October 13, 2005

3am Labs, the maker of the world’s most popular remote access and administration services with more than one million registered users, announced enhanced Pocket PC functionality and that it is gathering real-world usability feedback for future releases from its new Pocket PC Advisory Board.

“Mobile professionals were some of the earliest adopters of our technology and continue to be among our most dedicated users,” said Michael Simon, CEO, 3am Labs. “Their direct feedback has resulted in specific features that make using LogMeIn the easiest, most secure and practical way to remotely access a remote computer with a Pocket PC.”

Advanced Functionality for Pocket PC Users

To make the Pocket PC experience as close a possible to the desktop or laptop – 3am Labs added functionality specifically for Pocket PC users, including:

Remote Control – Fully control the mouse and keyboard of a home or work PC from a Pocket PC. P2P technology hand-off provides fast remote control speeds.

Formatting to Fit the Pocket PC Screen – LogMeIn automatically senses if a user is connecting from a device running Microsoft CE and automatically formats the screen to match the Pocket PC viewing window.

File Transfer – Transfer files from a remote PC to a Pocket PC, without first launching remote control. Documents open locally, formatted for the Pocket PC.

Landscape Views – Rotates the screen 90° and replicates the aspect ratio of the display on the PC being accessed, so horizontal scrolling is kept to a bare minimum.

Shortcuts – Add a shortcut to the Pocket PC Favorites folder for faster access to a remote PC.

File Share – Share files directly from a PC using a secure link, which eliminates the hassle of files that are too large for email.

Pocket PC Advisory and User Groups

Of the more than one million LogMeIn users, over 200,000 are using Pocket PCs. 3am Labs is tapping into this base to better understand the challenges of mobile productivity. 3am Labs invited its Pocket PC users to participate in one of two groups: a Pocket PC Advisory Board and a Pocket PC User Group. Feedback from both groups will enable 3am Labs to develop product enhancements that overcome these challenges.

The Advisory Board, comprised of an elite group of LogMeIn power users and industry insiders, will provide feedback and development ideas through private quarterly web conferences, user surveys, and online forums.

The broader User Group comprises more than 2,000 self selected LogMeIn and Pocket PC users who will participate through online user forums, usability testing, Beta-testing, interviews and surveys.
